Soil Leaching
Soil leaching is a highly advanced remediation technique at Biotix that replicates the natural principle of leaching, but with artificial control to safely extract and mobilize contaminants within soil and groundwater. Once captured, contaminants are conveyed to the surface for processing in our treatment trains, enabling their optimal and regulatory-compliant management. This technology is the culmination of 12 years of research and development at Biotix. It has led to the creation of a four-action, multi-directional well.
Pump and Treat
Pump and treat is an in situ hydraulic remediation technology that involves extracting, treating, and discharging contaminated groundwater to reduce contaminant mass and control migration. This method is highly reliable, but it can be quite slow. It is employed either as a primary treatment or as an additional hydraulic control measure.
Volatilization
Volatilization is a technology where volatile organic compounds (VOCs) present in soil or groundwater evaporate and migrate as vapors through soil pores or towards the surface. In other words, contaminants evaporate naturally or as a result of treatment, which subsequently facilitates their extraction or degradation.
Modified Multiphase Extraction
Modified multiphase extraction is a superior evolution of conventional multiphase extraction, enabling the efficient and highly precise removal of contaminants in their three phases (free, dissolved, and gaseous). The technology developed by Biotix allows for (1) the application of higher and controlled vacuum, which increases the radius of influence, (2) the combination of extraction with other treatment techniques, and (3) the differentiated targeting of contaminant phases.
